The NIH Training Center (NIHTC) is pleased to announce that we are now running several acquisitions, administrative systems, and supervisory training classes to allow NIH staff to meet mandatory requirements to fulfill their job roles. This 1-day Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) workshop is designed for employees with 1-5 years of federal service, focusing on the 3-Tiered Retirement system (FERS, TSP, Social Security), credible service, leave categories, establishing financial goals, and estate planning basics.

Key Topics

Please note that this class is not eligible for CLPs.

  • Understand the FERS benefits package.
  • Explore the three-tiered retirement plan.
  • Review leave, healthcare, life insurance, and especially TSP benefits.
  • Identify the requirements for retirement eligibility while examining creditable service.

Audience

FERS employee with two to five years of Federal service.

Class Registration Process

When you register for a class, you will be automatically placed on a waiting list. A message "No Seats Available" will appear. Select YES, Continue Registration. Once the course is approved by your manager and final approver, you will successfully be registered if a seat is available.
