Important Information from the NIH Training Center
The NIH Training Center (NIHTC) is pleased to announce that we are now running several acquisitions, administrative systems, and supervisory training classes to allow NIH staff to meet mandatory requirements to fulfill their job roles. This 3-day Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) workshop is designed for the CSRS employees with 10 years or fewer until retirement eligibility. It will provide participants a comprehensive look at the federal retirement benefits, an understanding of financial planning strategies, estate planning concerns, and transition to retirement.
Please note that this class is not eligible for CLPs.
- Understand CSRS retirement benefits.
- Explore leave, healthcare, life insurance, and Social Security benefits.
- Review financial, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), and income tax planning.
- Examine estate planning.
- Recognize the transition into retirement.
Audience
Employees hired prior to 1984 with no breaks in service or rehired employees after 12/31/1983 with more than a one year break in service and at least five years of creditable civilian federal service by the end of 1986 and within ten years of retirement eligibility.
